It was a warm day today, and I felt like having a cold dessert.
Moreover, agar agar was in my pantry for a real long time. So I began experimenting with the veggie sea weed-jello.
Here is how it goes:
Jello
Agar agar powder 1 tsp
Milk 1.5 cups
Sugar 2 tbsp
Raspberry sauce
1 cup raspberries (frozen)
Water 4tbsp
Honey 2tsp
1. Prepare the jello : Warm milk, add in agar agar powder and sugar. Turn off the stove when powder is well blended and milk starts thickening.
Put it in a mould. Let it set in the fridge.
2. Prepare the sauce : Take raspberry and water in a saucepan. Heat it for a bit. Add in honey.(~5-10 minutes) . Puree it when it cools.
3. Mix it up. Whola! we have a lovely dessert ready.
Notes:
Agar agar powder can be purchased from chinese stores(Like Ranch 99). I tried it out in vegan store here in SF, but no luck.
